Dr. Marianne Meier is working in the area of ‘Sport & Development’ for more than ten years with a focus on diversity, gender, empowerment, football, and ‘monitoring and evaluation’. She holds a PhD in sport pedagogics and published her thesis on role models in sub-Saharan Africa. Originally, she obtained a double major in history and political science studying in Switzerland, USA, Italy and Germany. She is currently working for ‘Terre des Hommes International Federation’ as head of project for www.childrenwin.org. Furthermore, she is teaching at Swiss and German Universities. In her previous position at the ‘Swiss Academy for Development’, she conducted workshops and evaluations in Sri Lanka, Colombia, Europe, and mainly in Southern and Eastern Africa. She is Executive Board member of IAPESGW, Advisory Council member of ‘Women Win’, Board member of ‘Terre des Hommes Schweiz’, and SAD associate.
